Netflix's My Life With The Walter Boys' Noah LaLonde has unwrapped (pardon the pun) the behind the scenes details of filming that lollipop scene in season two, and turns out it wasn't quite as swoon-worthy in real life.

In season 2, episode nine, “Allhallowtide,” after returning home from Skylar's (Jaylan Evans) Halloween party, Cole (LaLonde) invites Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) to join in the family's game of candy poker. He unravels a pack of cards from his under his t-shirt shoulder and takes a red lollipop out of his mouth, before turning to ask Jackie to play.

Jackie then retorts back, asking if him he's sure he wants her to take all his candy. Cole then says: “Oh she's a hustler. Okay. Let's see what you got,” while twirling the lollipop in his hand, before Jackie replies: “Challenge accepted.”

Cole then puts the lollipop slowly into his mouth and sucks on it while staring into Jackie's eyes, in a moment akin to the Duke's spoon in Bridgerton and Connell's chain in Normal People.

But while people on the internet may be thirsting over the scene, turns out it was pretty gross to film. Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK ahead of season 2's release, Noah revealed there was in fact only one lollipop on the set for filming the scene, which was their last one of the series.

“I found one red lollipop and I had one moment to decide whether or not I wanted to use it and preserve it the entire time in a plastic bag so that it could have continuity. So I didn't really get to think much, for good or for bad, how it would go,” he said when asked how he approached the scene. “I just did it in one take, and then everyone was like, we don't have any more of those. You have to protect this lollipop with your life.”

Noah then revealed they then had to repeat the scene multiple time and he would in fact reuse the same lollipop multiple times, carefully preserving in its plastic wrapper after each take.

“One of my dear friends, Maury, in the props department, I would do a take, and he would hold open a little Ziploc bag, and I'd place the lollipop in there after every single take and just pray that I didn't accidentally take a bite in a moment of spontaneity,” he recounted.

Noah then jokingly added: “It was actually one of my proudest achievements from last season.”

Okay, yeah we're not too sure how we feel about that lollipop now.
